The NEO-6M GPS Positioning Module integrates a GPS receiver, onboard ceramic patch antenna, SMA external antenna interface and TTL UART communication for embedded positioning, tracking and navigation applications.
The NEO-6M GPS Positioning Module is an integrated GPS receiver solution designed for embedded positioning and navigation systems. The module combines a u-blox NEO-6M receiver with an onboard ceramic patch antenna on a compact PCB platform.
It supports 3.3–5.0 V power input and TTL UART communication with a default baud rate of 9600 bps. The board also provides PPS output, a Micro USB interface, an SMA connector for an external active antenna, backup battery support and onboard RF amplification circuitry.
This integrated design simplifies GPS implementation for vehicle tracking, embedded electronics, IoT tracking devices, GPS data loggers and positioning development projects where a ready-to-integrate receiver and antenna solution is required.
Q1: What is the NEO-6M GPS positioning module used for?
The module is designed for embedded GPS positioning applications such as vehicle tracking, asset tracking, navigation devices, GPS data logging and IoT positioning systems.
Q2: Does the module include a GPS antenna?
Yes. The module includes an onboard ceramic patch antenna and also provides an SMA interface for connecting an external active GPS antenna.
Q3: What communication interface does the module use?
The module provides TTL UART communication through TXD and RXD pins. The default baud rate is 9600 bps.
Q4: What power supply does the module support?
The module supports a 3.3–5.0 V power input.
Q5: What are the header pin functions?
The five header connections are VCC, GND, TXD, RXD and PPS. TXD and RXD use TTL-level serial communication and should not be connected directly to an RS232-level interface.
Q6: Can an external GPS antenna be connected?
Yes. An SMA antenna interface is provided for connecting a compatible external active GPS antenna.
Q7: Does Nova Antenna support OEM/ODM customization?
Yes. Nova Antenna can support OEM/ODM requirements including antenna integration, interface configuration and mechanical design adjustments based on project requirements.
